Our founder and owner, Allison Hennen, has always had a true passion for art. She studied graphic design at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Towson University and was a Graphic Designer for 13 years, followed by several years of retail & business management. After starting a beautiful family with her husband Rick, and being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, Allison longed to get back to her creative roots. Realizing that our local community lacked art resources and more creative outlets for children, a star was born: Kids Art Skool.

Allison operated the school out of her home in the beginning of 2020, offering in-person classes until Covid hit. Switching to virtual classes, and the creation of her Art DIY kits, helped the Skool survive, and by the Summer/Fall of 2021, was becoming a success in the community. The Skool interest grew as did the need for a larger space to operate. In May 2022 the Kids Art Skool Studio opened in Prince Frederick and we are thriving and loving every minute that we get to share our love of art not only with children but the whole community!
